Frequently Asked Questions:
I teach infants and toddlers, will this really apply to me?
Yes, this training is perfect for infant, toddler, and preschool teachers, or teachers with mixed ages! Each section is broken down into 5 math concepts and further broken down into activities you can do with each age group. Plus, there are additional resources in the handbook for each age group too!
I already teach counting. How is this different?
First, early math is so much more than counting. Also, there are different skills within counting that develop at different stages! You will leave with a deep understanding of how to teach numbers and their operations, plus four other key math concepts to focus on in early education!
What if I’m not confident teaching math?
Don't worry! Math skills are built through language hence why math talk matters so much. This training combines evidence based early math practices with language building strategies.
Is math talk actually that important to help a child's development?
Yes! Math talk is one of the most powerful ways to build early math skills. Research shows that embedding mathematics in early childhood education using your everyday interactions (no extra prep!) supports both math and reading development.
