We provide child care training for infant, toddler, and preschool teachers across Pennsylvania so you can meet your professional development requirements with strategies you'll actually use.  

Pennsylvania Child Care Training Requirements

Everything You Need To Know:

Annual Professional Development

Pennsylvania child care staff must complete a minimum of 12 clock hours of professional development annually to maintain compliance with state certification regulations (overseen by OCDEL). This applies to staff working in:
- Child care centers
- Group child care homes
- Family child care programs

Pennsylvania also requires certain pre-service and health & safety trainings (such as the Better Kid Care pre-service modules and CCDBG health/safety topics) that must be completed through OCDEL/The Pennsylvania Key. 

PQAS and Keystone STARS

We report your completed hours directly to the state! To get your hours, enter your PA Key PD Registry ID number in the first module before completing the course. These trainings support your program's advancement in Keystone STARS (Pennsylvania's quality rating and improvement system) 

ACT 48

For educators who hold Pennsylvania public school certification, we're an approved provider of Pennsylvania Act 48 professional development, enter your PPID number in the first module and we'll report those hours!
